How gorgeous are these photos? The elephants, the colours, the details! These are part of photographer Charles Freger's Painted Elephant series. They were taken in Jaipur, India during the annual Elephant Festival where the 'pretties' elephant takes the prize. I was fortunate enough to ride elephants in Thailand during my recent honeymoon and can't wait to share photos with you. Love these majestic creatures.

Spotty Kusama
Last month I had the opportunity to go to a Yayoi Kusama exposition here in Mexico. It was the Infinite Obsession installation and it was being exhibited at the Museo Tamayo in Mexico City. I tried going on a weekend and it was impossible, I wasn't the only one excited about Kusama's spots, it seemed that the whole city was as well. So one quiet Tuesday morning I ventured out to visit it and after about an hour of waiting in line I was inside Kusama's world. It is amazing what impact polka-dots can have, so instead of explaining my experience, which was amazing, here are some photos and a quote of Kusama herself:
''A polka-dot has the form of the sun, which is a symbol of the energy of the whole world and our living life, and also the form of the moon, which is calm. Round, soft, colorful, senseless and unknowing. Polka dots become movement… Polka dots are a way to infinity.''

Second Skins
Happy Monday everyone! How about these fashionably dressed animals to start the week? The king of the jungle in a general's jacket. An elegant swan in ballerina flats, so appropriate, Swan Lake anyone? Miguel Vallinas is the photographer behind these fantastic photos. The idea of them is not just the animals in very spiffy outfits but it has much more of a human element, as the artist himself calls it ''Human portraits that reveal the animal within us.''

Glow In The Dark

Can you imagine walking around your neighbourhood and see a random garage door open and reveal an aquarium of glowing jellyfish. The artist duo Walter Hugo&Zoniel created this in an abandoned building in Liverpool. Every night at 10pm the gate opens and the passers-by get an unexpected surprise. Keep your eyes open, you never know what might pop up in your neighbourhood.

Cloud Box
I have a thing for clouds, see here, here and here. So how about putting them in a box and having them on display at all times. Peter Alexander did just that and I love the outcome.

Cloudy
Now you can have you head in the clouds literally and in your own room, or in this case one of these rooms above. Berndnaut Smilde is the artist behind these dreamy installations. I wonder how long do these installations actually last...
